Torie & Kyle were married & had their reception at Edgewood this weekend. It was a beautiful day, but windy so they elected to have the ceremony inside in the center of the building where the windows and columns remind one of a cathedral. The flowers and expert touches by Chrissy from Quality Event Designs really helped make the ceremony & reception special and unique to Torie & Kyle. Torie walked down the aisle with her dad Jerry to Canon in D, and she and Kyle departed to 'All I Want is You' from 'Juno'.
The reception began with cocktails & hors d'eurves while the B&G were getting photographed on the Tahoe shore. A couple of tips about Edgewood : in off-season apparently the basic wine, beer & bubbly are free (and their 'basics' are not junk; the beer was Fat Tire) and also the most amazing hors d'eurve I ever had was their slider: a mini-burger with fried onions that is the best slider I've ever eaten... They were a hit even amongst their other amazing hors d'eurves.
Then Kyle & Torie entered to their first dance 'Better Together' by Jack Johnson (above pic) and then led everone through the amazing food line (the stuffed pork loin & the pasta salad were the best I've ever eaten, and I'm part Italian!). After some great toasts by Tyler & Megan and dad Jerry, the dancing started and never stopped except when the cake was cut. What a crowd! Photographer Emily Main helped me find a Panjabi MC song that rocked the house and everyone sang loudly to 'Sweet Caroline' and 'Don't Stop Believin'. It was the kind of crowd every DJ dreams about: requests kept coming in and the dance-floor was always full and by the time the evening was over everyone was tired, hoarse, and happy.
One more accolade about Edgewood. Normally when you have a venue as gorgeous and situated on Lake Tahoe like it is, you pay for the view and atmosphere and the service is so-so. Other venues with less inspiring views & architecture have to work harder at service to make up for their location. Absolutely not so with the people at Edgewood. Not only is it breathtaking, but the service there is top-notch. I worked with Walter, Nancy, & Joanne amongst others that night, and each was very helpful, extremely professional and a real joy to work with while coordinating the reception. Other venues I have had to remind the staff several times that the B&G are ready for this event, or ask when will they be ready for another. But with Walter and staff, they were asking me if I was ready, or already on the case if I started to gauge their readiness for an upcoming event. Efficient, friendly, and the kind of people that make the guests feel right at home. Kudos Edgewood!

The Victorian House
Happy to announce that I am a part of the Victorian House, a group of exceptional wedding professionals located at 216 Stewart Street, in Reno Nevada. Whether you need one vendor or several, let the Victorian House make your wedding reception or event that much more special.
Each of the professionals within the Victorian House has been invited to be a part of the group because of their professionalism, their dedication to the client, and their amazing work, be it wedding planning, photography, tuxedos, make-up, floral arrangements, catering, invitations, and of course deejaying (lol).
We also work very well together and genuinely like one another, which in the ego-filled wedding industry is a breath of fresh air. We have you, the client's best interests in mind and we wouldn't recommend each other if we didn't think you'll be extremely satisfied with the services you recieve. After all, my reputation is only as good as the people I endorse, so I want to recommend the best. And they just so happen to be at the Victorian House.... :)
